Life Happens. Sometimes more colorfully than others. As I'm transitioning pretty fully to Dreamwidth, it appears, now is as good a time as any to make the requisite disclaimers and give you, my Fair Readers, a choice of what you do or do not want to see.
First; the opinions expressed herein are my own. You are entitled to disagree, and you are encouraged to attempt to change my mind -- if you can do it in a credible, supportable, civilized manner. I may still disagree with you and it's nothing personal. I disagree on various subjects with some of the people I care most strongly about. I try really hard not to make judgments on others' opinions. I appreciate it when you can distinguish between my opinions on a subject and what is fundamentally *me*. I may also be wrong -- but odds are at least even that I'm not.
Second; I am not responsible for any outraged morality you may feel over anything you read here. I will discuss subject matter ranging from various kinds of crimes against persons, both experienced and observed; religion, organized and otherwise; politics, to include playing devil's advocate against either side; sex, drugs and roch'n'roll, and guns - generally under an 'adult themes or adult content' filter; alternative lifestyles, family models, pros, cons, functional and ugly examples; sexuality in general and sex in specific (again, adult filtered); health, disability and healthcare - both from the perspective of a longtime clinician and as someone with a train-wreck of medical issues; views on Family, Pack and Tribe and the implications of presence or absence thereof; personal responsibility, civic responsibility, global responsibility, risk assessment and choosing to take or avoid risk to personal threshold. *You* are responsible for your own feelings and responses. You are, however, welcome to try to change my outlook. If you continue to find my perspective offensive (even though I try diligently not to make *personal* attacks) I can make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out.
If you wish to be included or excluded from any particular subject matter make with the clicky clicky and send me a message. I do not normally screen comments -- since I figure if you're going to say it you should be willing to own it.
If I don't know you personally please tell me how you heard of me... and if I don't remember you, please forgive me. I *really* am brain damaged - just a context reminder generally does the job. I'm a big believer in unvarnished honesty -- sometimes a little too much, but with the brain damage I don't have the bandwidth to keep a pack of lies straight. I won't knowingly help you do it either.
Now, I'm getting ready to face plant into the computer so this is as much stream-of-consciousness as you'll get from me at the moment. Feel free to ask questions. I may decline to answer, but if I choose to do so it will be as close to the unvarnished truth as I can tell.
